THE OPPORTUNITY Our client, a leading Nigerian construction company, specialising in prestigious high-end residential, hospitality, commercial, and mixed-use high-rise developments is seeking an experienced Architect \/ Design Coordinator to join this eir project team and take ownership of the coordination and integration of all design disciplines throughout the project lifecycle. This is a contractor-side role, ideally suited to architects who have successfully transitioned into design coordination or design management within a construction contracting environment. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, resolve technical challenges, and ensure seamless coordination between the design office and the construction site while maintaining programme, budget, and quality objectives. A proven track record coordinating complex, multidisciplinary construction projects and enjoy working in a fast-paced international environment, we would welcome your application coupled with experience ensuring that all design information is coordinated, practical, current, and aligned with the construction programme, budget, and quality objectives will secure an interview. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams across multiple large-scale construction projects. Manage and oversee the design development process from concept through construction. Act as the primary point of contact for all site-related design queries and technical clarifications. Coordinate communication between architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, specialist consultants, contractors, and the project team. Review drawings and design information to ensure coordination, completeness, constructability, and compliance with project objectives. Identify, manage, and resolve design conflicts and interdisciplinary clashes before they impact construction. Monitor design revisions and ensure all stakeholders work from the latest approved documentation. Ensure project documentation is accurately maintained and effectively distributed. Work closely with the site and commercial teams to ensure design solutions remain practical, cost-effective, and aligned with project budgets. Support project delivery by providing ongoing technical guidance throughout the construction phase. Perform any other reasonable duties required by management. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Diploma \/ Degree in Architecture or similar. Professional architectural registration or membership such as Registered Architect (SACAP) , Building Architect , or Commercial\/Residential Architect. Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams on major construction projects. Demonstrated experience delivering high-rise, mixed-use, commercial, hospitality, or large residential developments. Thorough understanding of design development, construction methodologies, and project delivery processes. Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and coordinate design information across multiple disciplines. Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills. A proactive, detail-oriented professional with excellent problem-solving abilities. Valid passport. Previous expatriate experience working on construction projects in Africa or other remote locations will be highly advantageous.
