POSITION INFO:
My client, a dynamic and reputable player in the insurance industry, is looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will oversee all aspects of finance, collections, and shared services. This is a hands-on role that requires someone who is both strategic and operational — a true all-rounder with the ability to strengthen internal controls and deliver measurable results.

You will lead a diverse team of more than 30 professionals across finance, collections, and operations, ensuring cohesion, accountability, and performance. The ideal individual thrives in a fast-paced environment and is driven by transformation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and develop a large, multi-functional finance and shared services team (30+ members).
Drive and manage collections, budgeting, and financial reporting processes.
Strengthen internal controls, governance, and compliance frameworks.
Partner with the CEO and executive team to drive financial strategy, performance, and operational efficiency.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education: Qualified CA(SA) (non-negotiable).
Experience: Minimum of 10 years post-articles experience in the insurance or financial services sector.
Proven track record leading collections functions and shared services teams.
Experience managing large, diverse teams with varying skill sets.
Strong technical understanding of IFRS, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
Exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
