Chief Financial Officer (5-year fixed-term contract)

Overview:

The position of Chief Financial Officer is for a 5-year fixed term contract and is based in East London. The successful candidate will report to the CEO and be part of the Executive Management Team. Being able to lead and manage teams, as well as communicate and operate at a very senior level, is essential. In addition to the minimum requirements listed below, experience within local government, working with investors and in an investment environment, and having a proven track record of generating revenue for the organisation, are all considered highly advantageous. 

Minimum requirements: 

• Degree (NQF Level 7) in fields of Accounting OR Finance OR Economics
• Chartered Accountant (SA)
• Certificate in Municipal Financial Management (SAQA Qualification ID 48965) (to be completed within 18 months)
• Minimum of seven (7) years at senior and middle management level, of which at least 3 years must be at senior management level.
• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting.
• Sound knowledge of interpretation and application of legal framework of accounting in the local government and public sector.
• Auditing experience will be an added advantage
