POSITION INFO:

The Company is a fintech software business, founded in 2021. Company''s vision is to provide transparent and fair digital savings and lending products to the unbanked and underbanked population by giving financial institutions access to customer groups they would not be able to access traditionally across emerging markets, starting with Africa.

The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer and covers the UAE (HQ), Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda + other new markets

Based in Dubai and will travel extensively regionally particularly to East Africa in the short term.

Purpose:
The company is seeking a highly-skilled CTO with experience in the fintech space. The CTO will inform executive technology decisions for the company. The CTO will be responsible for a technology budget and will execute in line with the company vision. Primarily, the CTO will
be responsible for a development and support team and the development and management of the Company''s proprietary technology stack. The CTO will lead and be responsible for managing the development of products to support the strategy and growth of the business into new markets with different B2B partners. 

Professional Qualifications & Attributes:
? Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; Masters degree is preferable.
? Demonstrated ability to build technology products from the ground up and optimize mature products, balancing short term and long term technology investments
? 8+ years experience in technology development and management.
? Have strong engineering discipline: Be able to apply practical knowledge to build better software.
? Have knowledge of the full stack of the technology such as Java, PHP, experience, and a good understanding of the Web technology, DevOps tools,, Automating Tools and financial or banking platforms.
? Familiar with cloud technologies such as AWS and/or Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, GraphQL, Kotlin, Swift, and hybrid mobile technologies.
? Strong experience in leading a team of developers towards building reliable technology within budget and timelines.
? Strong preference for experience in the fintech space and specifically in digital banking/lending products.
? Strong preference for knowledge and experience working with MNOs and Financial Institutions.
? Strong preference for candidates with experience and an understanding of the East African Mobil Money landscape.
? Be able to focus on the big picture, recognize the value of staying apace with technical trends, and think strategically about the future.
? Experience with building large backend solutions / Architect
