POSITION INFO:

Purpose of the Role:
To drive growth, sales, market share, and awareness of Hunt & Mitton valves within
South Africa’s chlor-alkali and hazardous chemical handling markets, with a focus on
business development, technical consultation, and project specification.
As the STEAM sector works in conjunction with the processes in in the Chlor-Alkali
market, you will be required to work with your Team Members to grow your
understanding of the valves we offer and also expected to engage in sales in this market
as well.
Key Responsibilities:
? Identify and engage chlor-alkali producers (e.g. NCP Chlorchem, Sasol, Afro-Zonke), all
downstream customers that are in the supply chain of the Chlor-Alkali market including
water treatment plants (e.g. Johannesburg Water, Rand Water), and other manufacturers in
this sector.
? Promote the technical benefits of Hunt & Mitton's Euro Chlor-certified valves for chlorine,
caustic soda, and hydrochloric acid systems.
? Partner with EPCs, distributors, and project engineers to ensure Hunt & Mitton valves are
specified in project designs.
? Visit industrial plants to assess application needs and recommend suitable valve solutions.
? Provide technical product training to internal teams, end-users, and engineering
consultants.
? Monitor competitor activities and market shifts to inform strategy.
? Report on market trends, sales performance, and customer feedback.
? Be available for local and overseas training
? Adhering to all company policy and procedures including both our own OHS policies and the
customer’s OHS requiements
? Collaborate with the sustainability and operations teams to align product value with AVS's
ethos of CARE, PRIDE & TRUST.
Requirements:
? Must have direct chlor-alkali or chemical plant experience.

? Must be fluent in English and Afrikaans.
? 5+ years in industrial sales, engineering, or technical consulting (valves, pumps,
instrumentation, or similar).
? Experience working with chlor-alkali, petrochemical, or water treatment clients is a critical
requirement.
? Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling, Euro Chlor standards, and process safety is
preferred.
? Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
? Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
? Must be self-motivated, hands-on, and passionate about customer impact.
? Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationally.
