Our Client in the civil Engineering arena is looking to employ a experienced BRIDGE Structural engineer.

POSITION INFO:

Our Client in the civil Engineering arena is looking to employ a experienced BRIDGE Structural engineer. The Company provides a comprehensive range of services that include traditional consulting services (design, procurement and contract supervision), Public Private Partnership (PPP) solutions and asset management services. This includes high capacity freeways, interchanges and bridges, airport pavements, rural roads (including low volume and haul roads) and municipal infrastructure. The team is supported by transportation and traffic engineers, geotechnical and material engineers, and other specialists.

The core purpose of the role:

It is expected from the Senior Bridge Technologist to produce 3D Bridge models of proposed Bridge Concepts into a presentable format to our clients.
Produce and support to fellow team members in producing all construction drawings (Concrete and Rebar Drawings) from the 3D modelled drawings for bridges and conventional 2D AutoCAD culverts drawings.
Must have a good understanding in building information modelling (BIM) and the use thereof to assist in the production of technical drawings and improve overall efficiency within the Bridge Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for/should possess the following:

Produce 3D models for client presentation.
Produce technical drawings using AutoCAD and or Revit for bridge and culvert related structures.
Producing of Structural Steel and Reinforcement drawings.
Train/mentor of fellow team members to ensure all drawings meets the highest standards:
Assist in the preparation of Bill of Quantities.
Assist in the preparation of Bridge Reports.
Issue and Maintain register of issued drawings.
Ability to plan and execute work independently

with the focus on achieving deadlines.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor of Technology (Structures).
Professionally Registered as a Technologist with ECSA.

Experience:

Min 10 years experience in bridges, culverts or similar related reinforced concrete and structural CAD detailing.
Understanding of SANRAL''''''''s Code of Procedure.
Proficient in reading, interpreting & understanding of Road Geometric drawings, information and other data required as input for producing of Bridge and culvert drawings.
Understanding of applicable SANS codes of practice for concrete works, steel reinforcement for concrete, and structural steel detailing.
Must be Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD with Cads-RC and Addobar beneficial.
