SUMMARY:
DBN000236 – CIVIL ENGINEER LEAD - CENTURION

Purpose of the Job:
To direct the technical design, planning, and execution of infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety codes and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience and minimum 3years experience after Pr registration.
Must be Pr registered
Experienced in roads, earthworks, potable reticulation, sewer reticulation and pump stations.
Must have managed civil engineering teams in the past
Must be able to bring in new work
Experience in the mining, industrial space & commercial -advantageous

POSITION INFO:
Technical Competencies & Experience:

Bringing on new clients
Design & Engineering Management: Prepare, review, and approve technical designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications, ensuring compliance with local and international codes.
Project Leadership & Planning: Define project scopes, develop schedules, and oversee cost estimations and budgetary controls.
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise, mentor, and guide civil engineers, designers, and technicians to ensure quality performance and professional development.
Technical Coordination & Quality Control: Perform inter-discipline coordination (e.g., with structural, electrical, and mechanical teams), perform squad checks, and ensure quality control during construction.
Site Inspection & Compliance: Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress, ensure adherence to plans, and enforce safety regulations.
Stakeholder & Contractor Management: Coordinate with clients, architects, and contractors, providing technical expertise and managing contract execution.
Problem Solving & Optimization: Offer value engineering solutions and resolve design or on-site technical issues.
