POSITION INFO:
Our client is an established, independent short-term insurance brokerage based in Westville, KwaZulu-Natal. Known for their high standards of professionalism and client-centric approach, they specialise in providing comprehensive and tailored risk and insurance solutions to commercial clients. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage the entire claims lifecycle from registration and assessment to final settlement and recovery. Provide technical guidance and decision-making on complex or high-value commercial claims. Ensure all claims are processed in strict compliance with policy wordings, insurer mandates, and regulatory standards. Liaise and negotiate effectively with loss adjusters, assessors, attorneys, and insurers to ensure fair and prompt settlement. Monitor service levels and turnaround times within the claims department to maintain high client satisfaction. Produce regular claims reports and identify trends to assist with risk management and underwriting reviews. Requirements 6 + years of experience in Short-Term Insurance Claims (with a strong focus on Commercial Lines). NQF Level 4 Qualification in Short-Term Insurance (minimum 150 credits). RE5 (Regulatory Exam 5) Certificate is mandatory. Completed Class of Business (COB) training for Commercial Lines. Completed product-specific training. Proficiency using Cardinal or Flexi software is highly advantageous. Exceptional understanding of policy wordings, claims legalities, and the FAIS Act.
