Cloud Virtualization and Storage Engineer

SUMMARY:
The Cloud Engineer: Storage and Virtualization is responsible for the design, implementation, performance optimization and integrity of the virtualization, storage and backup environments. This role is responsible for the stability, integrity and day-to-day performance of the hypervisor and its guests.

Job Description

• Design, build and operate Virtual and Storage infrastructure in accordance with best practices
• Installing and configuring new storage hardware and software or supervise contract / vendor personnel during installation and configuration
• Conduct analysis, data mining and reporting, with a focus on actionable results
• Ensure the uptime, availability and proper performance of all components.
• Documentation and management of disaster recovery procedures and ensuring system, storage, and network availability through collaborative processes
• Managing & monitor infrastructure

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Virtualization Certificate (VMware/Redhat/Microsoft)
• Storage systems certifications/courses
• Enterprise class hardware certifications/courses
• Networking certifications (CCNP/JNCIP)
• 7-10 years progressively increasing responsibility in computer operations, network and systems administration, and systems engineering
• 2-3 years’ customer support experience
• Utilize advanced systems/storage engineering experience to conduct capacity planning, advanced problem diagnosis and resolution, system monitoring and error reporting, and system maintenance including creation and maintenance of systems documentation and diagrams.
• 5-7 years of experience as a BSD/Linux/Windows/Solaris systems administrator
