Purpose Of The Job:

Our client is looking for an experienced Parts Buyer to join the Team. The Commercial Vehicle Parts Buyer is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of commercial vehicle parts and accessories to support the dealership's operational requirements. The successful candidate will maintain appropriate stock levels, build strong supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure parts are purchased in line with business requirements while maintaining excellent service levels.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities: Purchasing & Procurement Source and purchase commercial vehicle parts from approved suppliers Ensure parts are ordered at the best possible price while maintaining quality standards Negotiate pricing, discounts, and supplier agreements where applicable Monitor supplier performance regarding pricing, availability, and delivery times Process purchase orders accurately and efficiently Inventory Management Maintain optimal stock levels to support workshop and customer requirements Monitor fast-moving and slow-moving stock Assist with stock planning and replenishment Minimise excess, obsolete, and aged stock Participate in regular stock takes and stock control activities Supplier & Vendor Management Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers Resolve supplier queries, shortages, back orders, and delivery issues Compare supplier pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities Ensure suppliers meet agreed service levels Administration Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation Ensure all purchase orders and invoices are processed correctly Reconcile supplier invoices where required Prepare purchasing reports for management Maintain accurate system records and pricing updates General Duties Work closely with the Parts, Workshop, and Service Departments Ensure urgent parts are sourced as quickly as possible Assist with identifying alternative suppliers when required Maintain a high level of customer service to internal departments Comply with company policies and health and safety requirements Requirements: Grade 12 (Matric) Minimum 2-3 years previous experience as a Parts Buyer or Parts Purchasing Administrator within the commercial vehicle\/truck\/logistics\/motor industry Good understanding of commercial vehicle parts and components Computer literate with experience using dealership management systems and Microsoft Office Valid driver's licence Clear criminal record Motor Industry experience Essential!!
