Communications Specialist – Student Engagement | Durban (Renewable Contract)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute engaging communication strategies for student programmes and events
• Create compelling content across social media, newsletters, websites, and digital platforms
• Collaborate with student bodies and internal departments to drive engagement
• Maintain and update communication platforms, including websites and calendars
• Track performance metrics and optimise communication strategies using data insights
• Ensure all messaging aligns with brand guidelines and is inclusive and accessible

Minimum Requirements:
? Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, PR, or related field
? 2–5 years’ experience in communications, marketing, or student engagement
? Strong writing, editing, and storytelling ability
? Experience with social media management and digital communication tools
? Ability to engage with diverse audiences

Preferred Skills:

• Experience within higher education or student-focused environments
• Basic graphic design and content creation skills
• Strong organisational and project management ability
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret engagement data
