POSITION INFO:
• A permanent position exists at our Head office in Sandton for a Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Manager within the Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Department reporting to the Head of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs • To support the Head of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs in designing, implementing, managing and continuously improving the IDC Compliance Management System. • The role provides independent, risk-based second-line oversight, advice, monitoring and reporting on compliance and regulatory risk across the IDC and, where mandated, its subsidiaries. • It translates the regulatory universe and compliance risk assessments into prioritised compliance plans, validates the design and operating effectiveness of controls, drives timely remediation, strengthens policy governance, and embeds a sustainable culture of ethical and accountable conduct. •Degree in Law (LLB) •Postgraduate qualification in Compliance, Risk, Governance, Law or Business Administration will be an advantage. •Accreditation with the Compliance Institute or meeting the requirements to register with the institute will be an advantage. •Professional certification in Compliance Management will be an advantage. •Data Analytics, Privacy or AI Governance certifications will be an advantage. •8-10 years' experience in Compliance, Governance, Legal, Risk Management, Regulatory Affairs. •Minimum 5 years’ experience in compliance management •Computer literacy, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook 1. Compliance Risk Management •Develop and maintain the compliance management framework, methodologies, policies, standards and procedures. •Identify, analyse and monitor applicable legislative and regulatory requirements. •Maintain the regulatory universe and compliance obligations register. •Facilitate compliance risk assessments across the Corporation. •Evaluate compliance risks and determine appropriate mitigation strategies. •Monitor the adequacy and effectiveness of compliance controls. •Maintain compliance risk management plans and action registers. •Escalate significant compliance risks and breaches to appropriate governance structures. •Monitor remediation activities and validate corrective action implementation. 2. Compliance Monitoring and Assurance •Develop and execute risk-based compliance monitoring plans. •Conduct compliance reviews, testing and assessments to determine compliance effectiveness. •Analyse findings and prepare recommendations for management. •Provide assurance regarding the implementation of regulatory requirements and controls. •Maintain records and evidence supporting compliance monitoring activities. •Participate in combined assurance initiatives and coordinate with Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk Management and other assurance providers. 3. Regulatory Change Management •Monitor changes in legislation, regulations, industry standards and regulatory expectations. •Assess the impact of regulatory developments on the Corporation. •Facilitate implementation of regulatory requirements across business areas. •Provide advisory support regarding new and amended legislation. •Prepare regulatory impact assessments. •Monitor implementation progress and compliance readiness. 4. Advisory and Stakeholder Engagement •Provide compliance and regulatory advice to management and business units  •Support governance committees and management structures through compliance reporting and advisory services. •Build productive relationships with regulators, stakeholders and assurance providers. •Provide guidance on emerging regulatory and governance risks. •Support business initiatives through regulatory analysis and advice. 5. Compliance Awareness and Training •Develop and implement compliance awareness and training initiatives. •Facilitate compliance workshops and awareness campaigns. •Promote a culture of compliance and ethical conduct. •Develop compliance guidance material and communication content. •Evaluate effectiveness of training programmes. 6. Digital Compliance •Support the implementation of digital transformation initiatives within the compliance function. •Leverage data analytics to improve compliance monitoring and reporting. •Implement automated compliance monitoring and reporting processes where appropriate. •Ensure compliance with applicable data governance, privacy and information security requirements. •Develop and maintain governance controls relating to AI-enabled solutions. •Assess regulatory and compliance implications of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies. •Collaborate with Information Security, Risk, Internal Audit and Technology teams regarding digital and technology governance matters. 7. Governance Reporting •Prepare compliance reports for management, Executive Committee and Board Committees. •Report on key regulatory developments, compliance exposures, findings and emerging risks. •Maintain compliance dashboards and management information. •Provide insights and trend analysis to facilitate informed decision-making. 8.
