Brief Job Description
Reporting to the Divisional Procurement Manager the appointee will be responsible to source and procure goods/services of the right quality, quantity and timeously to ensure no loss of production to the Operational business.
Maintaining best practice procurement and Contract Management. Prepare plans, organize, lead and direct Contract Category spend in the company. To co-ordinate supplier performance and development, procurement quality management systems in a centralised procurement structure.
To deliver innovative solutions at the same time manage risks and volatility within this portfolio.
Education /Training/Experience
Qualifications
 A relevant tertiary and qualification in Procurement
Knowledge
 Experience with sourcing and procurement areas of the supply chain, ability to
manage, budgets, financial, etc.
 Understanding of all relevant legislation (LRA, BCE, SDA, safety, environmental
etc.)
 Understanding of how to develop and implement business strategies
 Legal Background

 The achievement of operational excellence to streamline processes, optimises costs, achieve savings, maximise service and manage risk in the organisation.
Key strategic integration roles are:
 Drive strategic and continuous improvement initiatives at all levels and functions such as TCO, SHEQ, BBBEE, competency management
 Deliver high quality service that meets stakeholder needs through integrated procurement processes.
 Innovative and collaborative sourcing strategies and procurement practices to achieve efficient and effective procurement across the organization
 Strategic procurement including delivering best value, mitigating commercial risk and effectively managing suppliers.
 Supplier Performance SLA’s
 Contract Compliance (Legal & Commercial)
 responsible for contract compliance, tendering procedures, procurement and monitoring of contract services.
 Monitoring & measuring contractor/supplier performance.
 Vendor selection and monitoring compliance
 Ensuring contract period and contract validity are adequately controlled.
 Liaising with end users/buyer/s as to modifications required on existing contracts or requirements for new contracts.
 Assisting with the compilation of the detailed specifications for enquiry documents.
 Reviewing, negotiating and executing contracts and agreements involving acquisition of major systems and services, crucial negotiations and procurement requiring coordination with multiple departments.
 Making recommendations and offer guidance to procurement regarding appropriate legal positions based on professional experience and knowledge.
 Reporting procurement department performance and providing training to end users
Contracts Management
 Advise management and strategic sourcing team members through regular analysis, update and recommendations on service contracts
 Maintains awareness of market trends and identifies alternative sources of supply whenever necessary.
 Maintain an in-depth understanding of the company operations of strengths, weaknesses and identify potential organisational problems and opportunities
 Create an implement “Strategic Sourcing Operation Business Plan”- (monitor and execute plan)
 Regular interaction with business intelligence team to maintain awareness of market trends, input costs, drive movements, competitor strategies – adjust above plan accordingly
