POSITION INFO:
Senior Corporate Actuarial Analyst – Capital & Reserving (Life & Non-Life)
Location: Rosebank, Johannesburg (On-site)

What You’ll Do:

Reserving Responsibilities:
- Extract, transform, and prepare data for reserving software and reporting tools.
- Run reserving models and compile quarterly reserve and profitability review reports.
- Present insights at governance meetings chaired by senior finance leadership.
- Support cross-functional teams, including reinsurance, finance, and investments.
Capital Responsibilities:
- Prepare quarterly/annual solo and group solvency and capital returns.
- Assist with ORSA reporting, including stress testing, risk tolerance, and solvency projections.
- Calculate solvency capital requirements and contribute to asset-liability management reviews.
- Present findings and insights at senior-level capital forums.
General & Strategic Actuarial Support:
- Contribute to annual business planning with inflation forecasting and catastrophe modelling.
- Assist with reinsurance programme renewals through analytical support.
- Provide input aligned with IFRS 17 frameworks and actuarial methodologies.

Who You’ll Work With:

Finance, Claims, Underwriting, Product and Pricing Actuarial Teams, and Business Partners.

What You’ll Need:

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science or a related field.
- Significant progress towards an actuarial qualification (minimum 10 exams preferred).
Experience & Skills:
- 5+ years of actuarial experience in reserving and/or capital functions.
- Proficiency in capital and reserving software (e.g., Psicle, ResQ, and Igloo).
- Advanced Excel and SQL skills; experience with IFRS 17 is a strong advantage.
- Able to work within tight deadlines in a high-performance reporting environment.
