JOB SUMMARY:
Cost & Management Accountant – Cape Town (R500K – R650K pa)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our Client, a National leader in the Technical Innovation and Research Sector, based close to Cape Town CBD, is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Cost & Management Accountant.

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

CIMA qualification or similar with a minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience
Recently qualified CA (SA) will also be considered
Strong attention to detail
Excel (intermediate to advanced), Powerpoint
Sage or other relevant accounting Software
Dashboard building possibly in PowerBI (advantageous)
Experience of working during a year end audit (eg: deal with auditors etc).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monthly management accounts reconciled to TB
Review of monthly management accounts
Preparation of the PnL for each BU
Monthly consolidation cash flows
Monthly preparation of the Cash Reserve forecast
Comparison of Actual, vs Budget vs Forecast
Preparation and upload of the BU monthly forecasts
Preparation of a 12 month cash flow forecast
Detailed knowledge of ABC costing
Preparation of detailed costing reports
Record cost information for us in expenditure cost control
Monitor and control the use of assets and resources within the business units
Update standard SOPS’s on a continual basis
Update all control procedures
Preparation of the monthly Financial Statistics
Project accounting for each project and preparation of the PnL per project.
Maintenance of the general ledger and assist with month end closure of the general ledger and other required reconciliations
Perform and report on feasibility studies
Update IT improvement projects where required.
