SUMMARY:
Are you a meticulous numbers-driven professional with a passion for costing, analysis, and production finance?

POSITION INFO:
My client is looking for a Cost Accountant with a strong understanding of manufacturing operations to join our finance team at a leading production facility in Johannesburg South.

Key Responsibilities:
- Product & Manufacturing Costing: Develop and maintain standard costing models; analyze variances between actual and standard costs.
- Inventory Control: Monitor raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to ensure accurate cost allocation and valuation.
- Cost Analysis & Reporting: Prepare cost reports and provide actionable insights on cost drivers, production efficiency, and margin performance.
- Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Assist with cost projections for budgets and forecast cycles; analyze and explain key variances.
- Operational Support: Collaborate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting of operations.
- Financial Systems & Controls: Maintain and improve costing systems and processes within ERP software (e.g., SAP, Syspro, Sage).

Minimum Requirements:
- BCom or BTech in Accounting or Cost & Management Accounting
- 3–5 years’ experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and operational data
- Experience with inventory costing, BOMs, and variance analysis
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Syspro, or similar)
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a high-paced environment
