SUMMARY:
A leading FMCG manufacturer is seeking an immediately available Cost Accountant to join its finance team. This is a critical role focused on ensuring cost accuracy, efficiency, and profitability across manufacturing operations.

POSITION INFO:
The position is based at the corporate offices in Midrand, with regular travel to production and distribution sites outside Johannesburg.

The successful incumbent will work closely with production, procurement, and finance teams to deliver cost transparency, accurate product costing, and operational insight within a fast-moving and performance-driven business.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage product costing, standard cost maintenance, and variance analysis.
Conduct margin, yield, and performance analysis to support decision-making.
Review BOMs, production overheads, and cost allocation methodologies.
Partner with operations and procurement to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Ensure accurate inventory valuation, stock reconciliations, and audit compliance.
Prepare cost reports, dashboards, and performance insights for management.

Job Experience & Skills Required (Ideal Candidate Profile):

BCom Accounting / Cost Management / CIMA (advantageous).
3–5 years’ experience in cost accounting within manufacturing or FMCG.
Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory control.
Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency (SAP / Syspro preferred).
Analytical thinker with exceptional attention to detail and process accuracy.
Immediately available and willing to travel to operational sites outside Johannesburg.
