POSITION INFO:
An established and highly respected manufacturing business is looking for a Cost Accountant (Factory Accountant) to become a critical link between finance and operations. This isn't a role where you'll simply report the numbers. You'll be the person explaining why they happened, where efficiencies can be unlocked, and how the business can become more profitable. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and maintain standard costing models and ensure costing accuracy across the business. - Analyse manufacturing costs, variances, and profitability, providing meaningful insights to management. - Oversee inventory control processes and ensure the integrity of inventory reporting. - Perform stock reconciliations and assist with cycle counts and annual stock takes. - Partner with operations to identify cost-saving initiatives and improve efficiencies. - Prepare monthly management reports and provide commentary on financial performance. - Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. - Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and reporting requirements. Job Experience and Skills Required: Education: - BCom Degree in Finance. Experience: - Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or Factory Accountant within a manufacturing environment. - Automotive or FMCG industry experience is highly advantageous. - Strong experience in standard costing and inventory control is essential. - Exposure to stock management, variance analysis, and operational finance. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Skills: - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. - ERP system experience is essential. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
