JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client in Atlantis is looking for a Cost Accountant.

Overall responsibility:

Safeguard integrity of financial data processed. Inventory Management , raw and packaging materials at all Warehouse and the Factory. Assisting with the annual Audit within a specific timeframe. Managing the Creditors' team and the Jnr cost accountant. Maintain the BOM costings on Evolution.

Primary Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

Full responsibility of overseas creditors
Assisting procurement to ensure all shipping and insurance requirements are in place
Full Forex payment pack in file as required by the SA Reserve Bank
Submit proof of receipt of goods to Standard Bank in line with Reserve Bank requirements
Calculate and post forex gain/loss with final payment
Assist and support team
Managing Clerks ensuring deadlines are met
First Sign off of monthly creditors Reconciliations
Loading creditors payments when required
Confirmation of accuracy of Payment planner, present to FE for approval by the 28th

Factory Accounting:

Cycle and Monthly Inventory counts and Analysis - All warehouses and Factory
Month End Inventory Reporting
Review and analyze inventory and Margin reports , conduct research and perform analytical investigation
Ensure accurate and timely submission of gross Margin schedules to Management
Reporting of Stock Variances
Factory Usage Variances - investigate and report
Reporting on Purchase Price Variances
Reporting on Wastage and Efficiencies.
Reporting on impact of BOM Changes
Calculating WIP
inventory Valuation, balancing to GL
Conversion Cost Calculation perform and journalize
Maintaining BOM on Evo with BOM updates.
inventory Journal posting (authorized by MA)
Ensure all IBT are cleared at Month End ( Transfers to SGX)
NPD Costing & Costings on changes to existing Bill of Materials

Balance Sheet

Complete Balance Sheet reconciliations for the following:

Inventory
Pallet Deposit
Trade Payables
Work in Progress
Prepayments
Accruals

ADHOC

Assist with Food Safety Traceability and Mass Balance when required.
Maintaining Chep Pallet Recon and resolving queries.
Daily warehouse walkthrough to check for any risks, report risks to an executive on site
Truck Pallet checks and last release of orders dispatched from Mstr warehouse
Assist with finance project or procedure change implementation when required.

Requirements of the Role

B.comm Accounting or Finance Degree (Critical)
CIMA qualified accountant
Minimum 5 years experience in FMCG environment
