SUMMARY:
Our client, a leading mining company in South Africa, is seeking a skilled and strategic Management Accountant. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering consolidated financial reporting, strategic analysis, and actionable insights to support executive decision-making and operational performance.

POSITION INFO:
Our client is committed to operational excellence, sustainable growth, and financial integrity. The Management Accountant will oversee group reporting, site-specific cost analysis, and budgeting processes, translating financial information into insights that drive profitability, efficiency, and informed strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare consolidated Group and Head Office management accounts and EXCO/Board reporting packs.
Perform variance analysis on actual vs. budget/forecast to identify key performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.
Analyse production, operational, and overhead costs. Provide insights to optimise efficiency and margins.
Conduct site-specific inventory valuations, reconciliations, and continuous stock monitoring.
Support Group budgeting, rolling forecasts, and strategic financial planning.
Develop and maintain management dashboards, KPI frameworks, and sales margin analysis tools.
Translate financial results into actionable recommendations to support Executive and operational decision-making.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

BCom or BCom Honours in Accounting, Financial or Management Accounting.
Professional qualification such as CMA (CIMA), ACMA, or CGMA preferred.
3–5 years’ experience in management accounting, ideally in the mining, industrial, or manufacturing sectors.
Strong skills in variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel. SAP experience is an advantage.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
