JOB SUMMARY:
A leading Global Water Technology Company committed to developing innovative technology solutions regarding various water challenges on a global basis requires the above to the lead the Commercial Team and position, build and grow the Division as well as respective portfolio linking all Company offerings.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements for the role:

A degree or diploma in Engineering and or a BComm or related qualification is preferred for this role.
Previous strategic experience as well as demonstrated proof that the successful candidate has implemented plans, restructured teams, been involved in JVs and growing markets is essential for the role.
Previous experience having worked as a Country / General Manager / Business Development Leader within the water industry is essential for this role.
Proven ability to develop and strengthen teams in order to maximise profitability and deliver against objectives.
Must have the ability to manage within the complexity of a matrix organisation and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
Must have the ability to lead a team to execute a business growth agenda.
Commercial acumen and entrepreneurial savviness – with demonstrated success at managing a team and sustainably growing into new markets within defined KPIs.
General management skills – with prior experience in the water sector within South Africa, ideally spanning both marketing and customer functions with an understanding of supply chain and finance and operations.
Big picture thinker with ability to operate and implement actions plans within the scope of the strategic plan.
Must have an understanding of how to build and position a business within a highly regulated and competitive market.
Must have influencing and negotiation skills with an ability to influence across functions to make things happen.
Expected to have a passion for the water sector with demonstrated prior career success in building significant business within the South African water industry (public utilities in particular).

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Leading the implementation of the business strategy, in line with Group strategy, to drive the portfolio growth and meet short, medium to long term growth targets for South Africa.
Driving continuous improvement to keep the business competitive and drive effectiveness across the value chain.
Managing key relationships with Customers across the brands and portfolios.
Translating the business strategy and objectives into an action plan, working intimately with cross-functional partners such as Finance, Marketing, Engineering and Business Development.
Driving strategy and execution by directing, engaging, and inspiring your multi-disciplinary team across functions (Marketing, Sales, Integrated Supply Chain, HR and Finance), fostering a high level of cross-functional integration with all resources driving forward the strategy and priorities.
Delivering against the strategic and financial performance metrics and striving towards achieving top ranked positions as well as maximum value in each of our markets (South Africa).
Growing market share within the public utilities and related markets in South Africa.
Aligning with the wider business, introducing, directing, and leading partners, to ensure they deliver against the strategy and business plan.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
