Country Risk Analyst

Our client has an opportunity available for a Country Risk Analyst based in Midrand.

Requirements:

• Postgraduate degree in an appropriate field specialising in Economics, Regional Development, Business Economics, Development studies or Finance.
• 10+ years progressive experience in providing Country Risk profiles or Risk Analysis within a finance development context.
• Experience in conducting debt sustainability analysis.
• Knowledge of the infrastructure, development and financing challenges and opportunities in Africa.
• Experience of country and regional policy, legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated research ability with proven experience in problem solving within a finance development context.
• Understanding of the lending process.
• Fluent in French.
• Familiarity with economic models.
• Experience presenting Country Economics at National or International conferences.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.

KPAs:

• Provide advice on the socio-economic, political climate, risk profiles, perspectives, strategies and key infrastructure initiatives within a country and its impact on potential new investments.
• Coordinate inputs and provide country and regional macro-economic market analysis to inform potential investments.
• Analyse risk factors and conduct country risk profile exposures of potential investments in the South African and broader African region.
• Provide analysis of the impact of policy, legislation, and strategies at a country and regional level for potential investments In the Banks priority sectors.
• Build networks with clients, information suppliers and other specialists in similar areas of expertise.
• Provide country and regional risk reports which enable the business to invest in infrastructure.
• Engage in data modelling in support of investment decisions.
• Engage with international counterparts in appropriate forums to source relevant information from Development Finance economic networks.
