POSITION INFO:
Credit Evaluation Specialist – Business & Agri Lending

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct credit and affordability assessments for SME, commercial, and agri-finance clients, ensuring that each lending decision is responsible and risk-aligned.
• Assess financial statements, cash flows, and collateral structures with precision.
• Provide clear, well-documented motivation for credit approvals or escalations.
• Collaborate with relationship managers to structure bespoke lending solutions.
• Attend client meetings (on-site and virtually) to better understand their business needs.
• Identify opportunities for asset growth aligned with ecosystem strategies and lending appetite.
• Uphold risk governance by stipulating facility conditions and ensuring credit compliance.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk, or a related field.
• 5–7 years' experience in intuitive credit assessment within business and/or agri finance.
• In-depth understanding of secured lending products, loan structuring, and collateral valuation.
• Strong working knowledge of the National Credit Act and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
• Hands-on experience analysing complex credit applications, and presenting to committees.
• Exposure to collections, collateral enforcement, or recovery processes is a plus.

• Making sound credit decisions under pressure.
• Translating financial data into actionable lending insights.
• Collaborating across credit, legal, and frontline sales teams.
• Presenting your case — confidently and clearly — to both stakeholders and clients.
