Customs Manager

SUMMARY:
A leading logistics company is looking for a Customs Manager

POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose

To ensure and ambassador customs compliance and maintain the companies accredited status when performing responsibilities and interacting with suppliers, clients and SARS, and to ensure that the correct procedures are followed to achieve operating efficiencies within the department in support to the import and export departments and the company’s obligation to offering a service to it''s clients.

Qualification & Experience

• Tertiary qualification relevant to the position
• 5 – 10 years industry experience

Key Skills & Competencies Required

• Sound knowledge of Customs clearing procedures, rules and regulations
• Sound knowledge of the Customs Act, valuation, compliance and accreditation guidelines
• Sound knowledge of Warehousing procedures and regulations
• Sound Knowledge of INCO-TERMS
• Able to work under pressure
• Team player but self- sufficient
• Service and detail orientated
• Must pay great attention to detail
• Must be Methodical and Accurate
• Must have the ability to be proactive and prompt in decision making
• Must have the ability to multitask
• Must have good communication skills
• Must have knowledge of all modes of transport
• Must keep abreast of changes in Customs matters and in the Industry
