SUMMARY:
Are you a seasoned Data Engineer ready to take the lead on a greenfield project within Microsoft Fabric? A forward-thinking company in the tech and analytics space is seeking a Data Engineering Team Lead to architect and drive the next phase of their data transformation journey.

POSITION INFO:
This is a unique opportunity to shape a new data warehouse, develop scalable data pipelines, mentor junior talent, and partner with C-level stakeholders. You'll play a key role in delivering business-critical insights while establishing best practices in a modern Azure-centric environment.

Qualifications:

BSc in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent
Preferred certifications:
- DP-203 (Azure Data Engineer Associate)
- DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate)
- DP-700 (Fabric Data Engineer Associate)

Requirements:

5+ years' experience in Azure Data Services: Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, etc.
Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric: Pipelines, Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Semantic Models
Strong T-SQL, PySpark, and Spark SQL skills
Deep understanding of ETL/ELT, data governance, and security best practices
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub, and Power BI Deployment Pipelines)
Strong track record in designing Star Schema-based data models
Experience using Power BI Premium/Embedded
Experience leading and scaling data teams

KPA’s:

Lead the design and implementation of scalable Microsoft Fabric data pipelines
Architect the data warehouse and ensure high-quality, secure data flows
Manage data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes
Develop and optimize semantic models and Power BI dashboards
Partner with stakeholders to translate analytics needs into technical solutions
Mentor and grow a data team, starting with an existing Analyst
Maintain documentation, testing, and alignment with business requirements
Own infrastructure performance, governance, and data reliability

Experience with AI/ML models or predictive analytics
Background in financial services, regulatory reporting, or sales optimisation
