Data Specialist (Engineer/Scientist)

SUMMARY:
We are partnering with a forward-thinking organisation to appoint a Data Specialist (Engineer/Scientist) who will play a key role in shaping and enabling their data and technology landscape. This position is instrumental in delivering scalable, data-driven solutions that support strategic business objectives.

POSITION INFO:
The successful candidate will be involved in designing and implementing modern data infrastructure, while taking ownership of data systems, processes, and architecture. Key Responsibilities:

• Data Engineering & Development:
  • Design, build, and optimise data warehouse solutions to support reporting and analytics
  • Develop and maintain efficient data pipelines to ingest and transform data from multiple sources
  • Ensure high levels of data quality, consistency, and accessibility across platforms
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of data architecture in line with business growth
• Data Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Partner with business units to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable solutions
  • Create intuitive dashboards and visualisations to support decision-making
  • Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
  • Identify opportunities to improve data processes, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to support evolving needs
  • Collaborate with leadership to scale and future-proof data capabilities
• Data Governance & Maintenance:
  • Maintain and monitor data systems to ensure reliability and performance
  • Oversee API integrations, ensuring stability and adherence to best practices
  • Implement strong data governance, security, and compliance standards

• Education:
  • Minimum qualification: Degree in Mathematics, Data Engineering, Data Analytics or a related discipline
• Experience:
  • 5+ years’ experience within data science/engineering or a similar role (e.g. BI Scientist and Data Engineer)
  • 3+ years’ experience Python, R and Cloud software
  • Proven ability to engage with stakeholders and translate business needs into data solutions
