Data Streaming Platform Engineer – Midrand / Semi-Remote – R650 PH

POSITION INFO:

Our client is currently seeking a Data Streaming Platform Engineer to help design, develop, and maintain high-performance data streaming infrastructure that fuels real-time decision-making across our global operations.

You’ll work with cutting-edge technologies to power connected vehicle systems, predictive maintenance, manufacturing analytics, and more. This is your chance to influence the data backbone of one of the world’s most innovative companies.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience
Sound knowledge in Kotlin, Java or JavaScript or Python or C#
Familiarity with Microservices Architectures, Cloud Architectures or Container Architectures e.g., Docker
Experience in developing solutions on public cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS
Experience with Container Orchestration Platforms e.g., Kubernetes
Sound experience in developing backend applications and services
Architecture and Interface Design
Excellent communication skills and team-oriented work behaviour in a distributed team
Experience of agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and Kanban
Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery tools (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, Terraform, Ansible)
Fit for business purpose mind-set, i.e., the solutions provided must meet the business goals
Understanding of integration between different technologies
Coordination between development and support environments
Assisting with the business cases
Requirements management:
Eliciting requirements
Translating and simplifying requirements
Document requirements in appropriate format depending on methodology followed
Planning and monitoring
Communication
Assist with identification and management of risks
