Debtors Controller

SUMMARY:
A well-established food/FMCG supplier is seeking an experienced Debtors Controller to manage a large, high-volume debtors book within a fast-paced supplier environment. The ideal incumbent would be someone who has had exposure to major retail chain and buying group debtors functions. The ability to proactively manage collections while maintaining strong customer relationships is essential.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

• Manage and control a large, high-volume debtors book within a food/FMCG supplier environment
• Ensure debtors accounts are accurate, reconciled, and ageing is well managed
• Proactively follow up on outstanding payments to meet collection targets
• Investigate, resolve, and close out pricing, claims, rebates, deductions, and other account queries
• Allocate payments accurately and timeously
• Liaise closely with sales, supply chain, and finance teams to resolve issues impacting payment
• Maintain strong working relationships with key retail customers and buying groups
• Prepare and distribute regular debtors and ageing reports to management
• Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures

• Proven experience managing a large, busy debtors book
• Previous experience within the food, retail, or FMCG supplier environment (essential)
• Experience dealing with major retail chains and buying groups (highly advantageous)
• Strong understanding of retail deductions, rebates, and claims processes
• Solid knowledge of debtors reconciliations and collections processes
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
• High attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Must live near Hammersdale or be willing to commute
