Decisioning / Data Engineer

SUMMARY:
Responsible for assessing, scoping, and/or developing/redeveloping business processes and products for deployment through the DaaS environment. This requires consulting type business engagement to identify appropriate applications for the DaaS environment be scoped, developed, deployed and monitored.

POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose

Responsible for assessing, scoping, and/or developing/redeveloping business processes and products for deployment through the DaaS environment. This requires consulting type business engagement to identify appropriate applications for the DaaS environment be scoped, developed, deployed and monitored. This includes collection of requirements for deployment from business, conducting pre deployment analysis of commercial and operational metrics to quantify baseline activity and potential uplift and communication thereof to onboard and upskill stakeholders. Scoped developments will need to be appropriately prioritised and briefed into the team. Performance of deployments must be tested, simulated or modelled, and then monitored to actively drive continuous improvement of existing use cases and drive expanded application of new use cases. The overall output will be a sustainable solution/product that creates measured business value to the respective segments within the group with further potential to the external market.

Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications & Experience required for this position

• STEM Bachelor’s degree (Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Sciences, and related quantitative fields)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role

 Functional Competencies

• Experience with business process modelling and associated software
• Hands-on experience with data management and curation. Experience with databases and data warehouses such as SAP, SQL, Oracle, DB2.
• Ability to understand the data sources and extract data as needed
• Experience with data modelling tools such as Informatica, SAS, or other open source tools and packages
• Understanding of business cases and the concept of ROI
• Ability to assess feasibility, viability and impact of projects and associated sub components
• Expertise in using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, outlook)
• Experience with Big Data Technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, MapReduce, etc. preferred
• Experience with cloud based environments preferred
• Understanding of Agile methodologies for rapid development
• Ability to visualize data and communicate story
