Desktop Engineer

SUMMARY:
Client based in the Midrand is recruiting for a Desktop Engineer on a 6 months contract basis.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications:

• Matric essential
• A+ & N+ and solid 2 years desktop support experience
• 2-3 years experience in provide support on IT infrastructure, CCTV, biometrics/access system, machine room (air-con, FDS, UPS), office printers, PABX, Video Conferencing and WI-FI

• Install, maintain, configure and support PC hardware and software in Microsoft environment
• Adding, modifying and deleting of user id’s for network, e-mail and internet
• License management
• Install, maintain, configure and support MS products such as MS Exchange, MS Office etc.
• Provide technical support to end users
• PC/laptop failure analysis and recovery; ensure faults are punctually reported and fixed
• Provide support for day to day IT operations, including IT infrastructure, CCTV, biometrics/access system, machine room (air-con, FDS, UPS), office printers, PABX, Video Conferencing and WI-FI
• Liaison with supplier’s technical support
• Quotations on IT related software and hardware products
• Implementation, management and adherence to IT security policies and procedures
• Documentation relating to projects and systems and procedures
• IT Infrastructure housekeeping and management 
• IT infrastructure monitoring, capacity planning, improvement planning execution as per projects
• Create, modify and delete VPN users
• Provide support for company provided cell phones
