Duties:

Infrastructure & Automation

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for Linux and Windows (.NET) workloads
• Develop and maintain automation using tools such as Ansible, Bash, and PowerShell
• Implement infrastructure-as-code practices for provisioning, configuration, and patching
• Deploy and manage containerised applications in Kubernetes environments
• Maintain shared platform services including messaging systems, object storage, logging platforms, and reverse proxies

• Administer Linux virtual machines hosting shared and platform services
• Support Windows servers running .NET-based applications and APIs
• Perform system health monitoring, performance tuning, and log aggregation
• Support RDBMS platforms from a DevOps perspective, including backups, performance monitoring, and automation

• Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging standards across environments
• Contribute to security hardening, secrets management, and patch compliance
• Work with infrastructure and engineering teams to ensure systems align with internal governance and regulatory requirements

• Work closely with software engineers, QA, and infrastructure teams to improve deployment and release processes
• Participate in sprint planning, release coordination, and incident response
• Provide guidance on DevOps best practices, tooling, and automation standards

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications advantageous
• Industry certifications beneficial (e.g., RHCE, CKAD, Azure DevOps Engineer)

• 3–6 years’ experience in DevOps, Systems Engineering, or a similar role
• Strong Linux administration experience (Ubuntu, CentOS, or similar)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Terraform, or similar)
• Solid containerisation experience using Docker
• Practical experience with Kubernetes (deployments, services, ingress, Helm)
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and Git-based workflows
• Working knowledge of Windows Server administration and PowerShell scripting
• Understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, load balancing, and reverse proxies (NGINX, HAProxy)
• Experience with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Graylog
• Basic SQL Server management and automation experience

• Exposure to Azure or other cloud platforms
• Experience with object storage platforms (S3-compatible, MinIO, etc.)
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ
• Familiarity with CI/CD for .NET and containerised applications
• Experience in environments transitioning toward Kubernetes
• Exposure to financial services, asset management, or similarly regulated industries

• Strong scripting capability (Bash and/or PowerShell)
• Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and release automation
• Knowledge of system reliability, scalability, and secure configuration practices

• Strong troubleshooting ability across infrastructure, networking, and application layers
• Able to diagnose issues in distributed and hybrid environments

• Comfortable working across multidisciplinary technical teams
• Clear communicator who can document processes and explain technical concepts

• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on stability and risk reduction
• Proactive in identifying improvements and automation opportunities
• Able to balance operational support with project-driven work
