SUMMARY:

Are you an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer with strong hybridâcloud and onâpremise expertise? This role offers the chance to support and optimise a complex enterprise environment across servers, networks, storage, and cloud services.

POSITION INFO:

Our client in the financial services sector is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to manage and support a hybrid environment that spans onâprem infrastructure, cloud platforms, and businessâcritical systems. This role is ideal for a handsâon engineer who enjoys varied responsibilities, from server and network management to cloud integration and disaster recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers (onâprem & Azure)
Administer virtualisation platforms, server hardware, and storage technologies
Manage enterprise networking (LAN/WAN/VPN), switches, routing, and Azure connectivity
Support Microsoft 365, Azure AD, DNS, SharePoint Online, Remote Desktop Services
Manage VoIP/IP telephony and collaboration integrations
Implement and oversee Veeam backup and disaster recovery
Provide 2nd/3rd line support, including afterâhours escalation
Maintain documentation, configurations, and technical reports
Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance and resilience

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Diploma/Degree in IT or related field
5+ years infrastructure engineering experience
Strong knowledge of:
- Windows/Linux servers
- HyperâV & failover clustering
- HP servers/switches/storage
- Azure cloud & hybrid networking
- Microsoft 365 & Azure AD
- IP Telephony & Veeam backup
Solid understanding of networking, TCP/IP, and perimeter security
Experience with ITSM processes and technical documentation

Advantageous:

ITIL, Microsoft AZâ104/305, Linux certifications, HP/Aruba networking, Cisco CCNA/CCNP

Excellent communication and documentation ability
Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
Collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset
