Dispatch Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall supervision of picking, packing, loading, routes, drivers and logistics
• Supervising, coordinating, and providing leadership to the dispatch and collections department
• Coordinate with team to plan and execute various projects.
• Guide and assist team members in their assigned job responsibilities(team includes pickers, packers, drivers and assistants)
• Supervise team members to meet quality and productivity targets
• Assign daily tasks to team members and ensure that deadlines are met
• Management of relevant expenses
• Recommend process improvements to achieve departmental performance goals
• Collaborate with the Manager in coaching, training, counselling, and disciplining of team members
• Assist with the management of daily operational functions on all shifts - including planning, notifying the Manager of staffing issues and monitoring of customer orders
• Ability to read bills of lading, packing lists, inventory manifests and order sheets within a busy warehouse environment
• Organized with acute attention to detail
• Lead, mentor and inspire team members to meet daily goals
• Able to work with WMS system (SAP & Qwix), MS Office programmes such as (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
• A personal commitment to safety, and ensuring team members follow the same commitment

Requirements

• Grade 12

• Relevant qualification in warehouse/logistics is preferred
• Strong knowledge and understanding of routing/logistics in order to meet the daily expectations of the customers
• Attention to detail and accuracy of capturing data, processing orders and requests
• South African citizens only

• Minimum of 5 to 8 years relevant warehouse, dispatch, collections and routing Supervisory experience is a must

• Computer literate - MS Office, SAP or similar with WMS is essential
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff
• Adaptable to change in a pressurised customer delivery environment
