JOB SUMMARY:

A leading supplier of fresh produce to the retail and food services industries is seeking an experienced Distribution Manager to ensure operational efficacy within the Warehouse by managing packing and distribution staff, and maintaining an accurate stock and administrative system.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements for this role:

Must have a National Senior Certificate with Mathematics
A relevant tertiary qualification would be advantageous
3-5 Years’ experience in a similar role within a fresh produce environment is essential
Good people and excellent communication skills will be required
Must be punctual, have attention to detail and lead with a proactive approach
Computer literacy is important
Must have a valid driver’s license and own transport

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Performing duties and details assigned as per documented procedures.
Preparing customer orders daily, as per orders.
Ensuring the accuracy of product detail and counts.
Ensuring invoices are returned to the Administrative Assistant.
Ensuring all relevant documentation are completed correctly and with the correct relevant detail (daily and weekly).
Arranging the final product (stock and pallet) fridges, such that there is maximum space utilization.
Adhering to health and safety regulations to ensure that no work is carried in a manner that could contaminate products.
Assisting with weekly and monthly stock counts.
Ensuring that the dispatch fridge, and loading areas are kept in a clean and hygienic condition.
Liaising with external service providers with regards to the repairing and servicing of fridges and equipment.
Ensuring area around the back yard is cleaned daily.
Informing the General Manager or Food Technologist of any operational problems as and when they occur.
Understanding the basic principles of Good Manufacturing Practices.
Performing any other reasonable work that is required to be done to ensure the smooth functioning of the department or the company.
Maintaining all documentation as required by the documented system and ensuring that these are returned on a daily basis to the Document Controller.

Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
