SUMMARY:
ELECTRICAL ENGINEER — Roodepoort, Gauteng

Our client, a leading South African commercial and industrial (C&I) solar PV and battery storage EPC company, is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join their growing engineering team. With over 500 projects delivered and 190MW+ of installed capacity — including some of the largest rooftop solar installations in Africa — this is an opportunity to work on large-scale, high-impact renewable energy projects across retail, agriculture, mining and heavy industry.

POSITION INFO:
The Role Design and review electrical systems for grid-tied and hybrid solar PV and battery storage (BESS) installations Compile and review single line diagrams (SLDs), layouts, and technical specifications for LV\/MV electrical infrastructure Ensure designs comply with SANS, NRS097, SA Grid Code, and relevant municipal SSEG regulations Support tendering processes - technical specifications, BOQs, and contractor evaluation Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for proposed installations Liaise with EPC contractors, clients, and regulatory bodies throughout project execution Support commissioning and testing of completed installations Assist with technical due diligence on new project opportunities What We're Looking For BEng\/BSc\/BTech in Electrical Engineering 2-3 years' experience in electrical design, ideally within solar PV, renewable energy, or industrial electrical environments Working knowledge of SANS 10142, NRS097, and SSEG regulatory frameworks Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and\/or relevant design software (PVsyst, Helioscope, ETAP, or similar advantageous) Strong understanding of LV and MV electrical systems and distribution Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise directly with clients and contractors Valid driver's licence Why Apply Work on some of South Africa's largest and most impactful solar PV projects Join a fast-growing, founder-led company at the forefront of the C&I renewable energy sector Genuine career growth within a scaling, technically ambitious business
