POSITION INFO:
An established engineering and electrical solutions business is seeking a technically strong and commercially driven Electrical Sales Engineer to join its Pretoria-based team. This opportunity is suited to an Electrical Engineer or technically experienced sales professional who understands electrical systems, industrial equipment and engineered solutions and enjoys developing client relationships, identifying opportunities and converting technical requirements into commercially viable solutions. 🔧 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Identify and develop new business opportunities across the industrial, mining, power generation, utilities and manufacturing sectors . Develop and maintain strong relationships with engineers, consultants, procurement teams, project managers and senior decision-makers. Promote and sell electrical equipment, technologies and engineered solutions . Understand customer requirements and recommend technically appropriate solutions. Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, quotations and tenders . Interpret technical specifications, drawings and customer requirements. Work closely with internal engineering and project teams to develop fit-for-purpose solutions. Manage the sales process from initial enquiry and lead generation through quotation, negotiation and project handover . Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and accurately report sales opportunities. Conduct customer meetings and site visits within South Africa. Identify opportunities for additional products, services and solutions within existing accounts. Monitor market developments, customer requirements and competitor activity. Provide technical and commercial support throughout the sales process. Attend industry exhibitions, conferences and customer events where required. Maintain accurate CRM, customer and opportunity information. Contribute to achieving company sales and business-development objectives. 🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS BEng\/BSc\/BTech\/National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline. 3-6+ years' experience in electrical engineering, technical sales, business development or a related industrial environment. Proven experience selling electrical equipment, systems, automation products or engineered solutions . Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and industrial applications. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation . Strong commercial awareness with the ability to understand customer needs and develop appropriate solutions. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-management skills. Valid driver's licence.
