SUMMARY:
Our client, a growing company in the solar energy sector, is seeking a Junior Site Supervisor to support the delivery of safe, compliant and high-quality solar installations. This role is suited to a qualified electrician with strong electrical compliance knowledge who is ready to take on site-based responsibility. The successful candidate will work closely with installation teams, subcontractors and head office to ensure that all work is completed to the required standards and regulations.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements

3-Phase Wireman’s License (non-negotiable)
Certified and registered to issue and sign off 3-Phase Certificates of Compliance
Proven experience as a 3-phase installation electrician
Solid understanding of electrical compliance and Occupational Health and Safety regulations in South Africa
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication and client-facing skills
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Physically fit and comfortable working on active installation sites
Competent in the use of electrical tools, testing equipment, and hand and power tools
Valid driver’s license
Solar PV installation experience will be advantageous
Previous exposure to supervising teams or subcontractors

Key Responsibilities

Conduct site inspections before, during and after solar installations or system upgrades
Perform quality control checks to ensure neat, safe and compliant installations
Inspect electrical installations and issue or sign off Certificates of Compliance where required
Identify installation or workmanship issues and report findings to management
Compile and submit detailed site inspection and quality reports
Oversee and support subcontractors and installation teams on site
Assist with solar system fault-finding and troubleshooting
Act as the on-site point of authority while maintaining communication with coordinators and managers
Attend to escalated client technical issues that require site intervention
Participate in standby or after-hours support on a rotational basis for urgent client power issues
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on all sites
