We are looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving electrical systems for mining equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop electrical systems for mining machinery and equipment
Prepare detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
Select appropriate components (motors, drives, PLCs, protection devices)
Perform load calculations, fault analysis, and system simulations
Ensure compliance with relevant mining, safety, and electrical standards
Collaborate with mechanical engineers and production teams
Support manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning processes
Troubleshoot and resolve design and field-related electrical issues
Maintain accurate technical documentation and revision control
Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

Minimum Requirements:

BSc/BEng/BTech in Electrical Engineering
3–7 years’ experience in electrical design, preferably in mining or heavy industry
Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar)
Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation systems
Strong understanding of power distribution, control systems, and protection
Knowledge of relevant South African and international standards
