Client in the Consulting Engineering and Construction Industry requires the services of an Engineer Product Specialist focusing on the design of Conveyors. this company is in the East Rand

POSITION INFO:

MISSION
To conduct and oversee all product line system Engineering and related aspects
AREAS OF MANAGEMENT
Specialised Handling and Equipment - Product Line







KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES	KEY ACTIVITIES
Sales and Marketing	Ensure that all estimates for proposal are accurate.
	Review of all relevant technical specifications and qualify our offer to ensure compliance.
	Provide technical guidance to team and individual mebers, as and when required
	Support Aftermarket team on engineering and proposal work

Projects and Operations	Ensure design criteria is aligned with clients
	Conduct design work in accordance to the relevant norms and codes
	Ensure drawings are checked and appropriate feedback given to the drawing office before issuing to clients
Team Interaction	Active participation in meetings and forums
	Accurate reporting (formal and informal) as and when required to ensure that the Management Team has current information for decision-making

Business Sustainability	Build strong (and direct, where applicable) customer relations through open communication and service delivery
	Efficient interfacing with internal Sales and Marketing teams to ensure that all possible opportunities are appropriately addressed



Safety, Health & Environment	Leading by example with all matters relating to SHE



Quality Assurance	Communicate and practice the principles of Customer Service, both internally and externally




KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
1. Ensure tender related estimates are accurate and competitive
2. Ensure project related engineering is done accurately and according to the related standards and codes.
3. Ensure tender estimates are tracked during the execution phase.
4. Introducing new elements into the design philosophy as and when applicable.
5. Effective communication with project team and outsourced team to ensure success in execution.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
TECHNICAL SKILL	ACTIVITY
System Engineering	Ensure all enginering work is completed effectively
	Ensure all engineering work is saved in the relevant project directories

Productivity	Tasks should be planned and completed within the time frame allowed.


Mutually accountable	Responsibilites of every instruction and task should be well defined, however when theres accountablity required, the team should mutually adress this and implement changes to eliminate future issues.
