Executive Finance

SUMMARY:
Reporting to GM South Africa, you will form part of the local executive management team.

POSITION INFO:

Responsible for the development of the financial well-being of the Group. Accountable for financial planning, reporting, compliance, operations and risk management. In addition, you are required to manage reporting systems, and controls to Group standards and ensure compliance with relevant South African Legislation.

Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor of Acc Sciences in Financial Accounting or BCom Accounting Degree
• Advantageous Qualifications: CA(SA) or Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA)
• Min of 5 years relevant experience in a related role within the manufacturing environment
• Knowledge, insight and understanding of the following:
  • Income Tax Act
  • VAT legislation and any other relevant legislation
  • Statutory legislation and requirements relating to Payroll Admin
  • Interest Rate on Company Loans
  • New Credit Act
  • Contracts and their Sources
  • Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental legislation to the food/beverage sector
• MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SAP, Lotus Notes

Key Role Responsibilities

• Provide input to the business strategy and align the Finance strategy to the overall business strategy
• Manage the financial functions and instruments of the business
• Prepare budgets by consolidating departmental budgets
• Conduct monthly forecast reviews
• Evaluate and advise on costing and management of material cost, labour cost and overhead cost.
• Authorise expenditure against policy guidelines
• Prepare and manage the budget and manage expenditure against the budget
• Protect company assets (working capital & fixed assets)
• Proactively manage business risks and ensure controls are in place to mitigate risks.
• Manage the Asset verification process.
• Evaluate Return on Investment (ROI) and make suitable recommendations.
• Manage business liquidity and working capital.
• Evaluate and manage funding and hedging requirements.
• Evaluate and analyse investment performance.
• Approve new customer accounts and credit limits.
• Analyse and authorise payment proposals
• Review compliance to all Tax obligations in line with applicable Tax regulations.
• Oversee procurement and IT functions to comply with relevant legislation and Group policies
• Monitor and evaluate team members against performance standards
• Compile, submit and monitor Functional Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report
