Requirements:

  • Graduate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, or CPA).
  • At least five years’ experience in a senior financial managerial position.
  • Financial experience working for a Non-Profit Organisation is preferred.
  • Some experience regarding the role of Company Secretary is advantageous

Key Performance:

The primary roles of this position are:

  1. To lead and manage the Finance & Administration Division to fulfill the vision, mission, and objectives.
  2. To fulfill the role of Divisional Chief Financial Officer, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. Each division is managed by an Executive Manager.
  3. To take on the responsibilities of Company Secretary.

The Key Performance Areas (KPAs) for the position include strategic leadership, sustainability, service delivery, and stakeholder enhancement. Key performance indicators include, but are not limited to:

Strategic leadership:

  • Help develop and implement a strategic plan based on trends in the business, economic and political environment.
  • Track the Finance & Administration Division’s progress on achieving the strategic plan, by identifying potential opportunities and challenges for the division, to formulate and implement the division’s annual operational plans.

Sustainability

  • Identify, assess, monitor, and manage s principal business risks.
  • Ensure that activities are conducted lawfully, ethically, and in a socially responsible manner, and that all statutory requirements for a Ring-fenced, Non-Profit, Public Benefit Company are met and adhered to.
  • Ensure that all finance and administration policies are always implemented.
  • Design, implement and review finance and administration-related standard operating procedures to ensure optimal organizational performance.
  • Ensure that all expenditure is within the Council-approved annual budget.
  • Assist the CEO in conducting regular reviews of financials and analyzing all costs to ensure that the organization is lean, whilst maintaining an acceptable level of quality.
  • Contribute to improving BBBEE rating.

Service delivery:

  • Ensure that is appropriately organized and staffed to achieve its strategic objectives and maximize service delivery.
  • Assist the CEO in monitoring, interpreting, and achieving all key performance indicators.
  • Grow existing service delivery capability, through succession planning, training, and meeting employment equity targets.
  • Ensure that all Finance & Administration Division employees conform to and abide by occupational health and safety standards and policies.
  • Undertake regular evaluation and communication to Finance & Administration Division staff of their performance.

Stakeholder Enhancement:

  • Assist with growing the brand through effective, positive, high-quality communication.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Create a positive work environment in the Finance & Administration Division, conducive to attracting and retaining diverse, satisfied employees of the highest caliber.
  • Provide the Council members (i.e., Board of Directors) with the information and support needed to perform their duties as directors of the organization, including arranging Council meetings

Remuneration:

R1,3 - R930K negotiable p.a. CTC
