Export Manager - Food Manufacturing

SUMMARY:
A well-established Yeast Manufacturer with an international footprint requires the above to lead and manage the export business into Sub-Saharan Africa delivering on the Company’s aspirations of creating and delivering a sustainable and profitable business in Sub-Saharan Africa whilst protecting the interests of the Company.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements for the role:

• A tertiary qualification in Food Technology or related is essential for this role.
• Previous experience having worked in an Export position or Food Technologist position or related role within the food manufacturing industry having exported into Sub-Saharan Africa is essential.
• Previous experience working within any food manufacturing industry is essential for this role.
• The successful candidate must be fluent in English. French or Portuguese proficiency would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Must have a good knowledge of incoterms used.
• The successful candidate must be computer literate.

• Managing all aspects of the export role from strategy development, market analysis, identification and targeting, market executional management, all aspects of Customer and Distributor communication, individual Customer and bakery management.
• Continually evaluating and implementing better ways of working inclusively, understanding both South Africa and destination country’s market, competition, legislation and logistics requirements.
• Managing all export sales of consumer and bakery yeast and enzymes in Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Compiling and implementing business plans and budgets (market potentials, sales, profit, costs) for area of responsibility.
• Supporting the Technical Departments at the Company’s Key Accounts, in line with technical advice of product development and application department, concerning application of yeast and baking enzymes in dough-related products delivering business objectives.
• Overseeing test baking and problem solving at Customer premises.
• Leading and managing customer service and logistic systems in close co-operation with Finance, Call Centre, Warehouse and Logistics.
• Managing stock of export consumer in line with the Company forecasting and SOP process.
• Driving and managing the Export Team and its business.
