JOB SUMMARY:
A busy Steel Fabrication company is looking for an experienced Workshop Manager with extensive steel plate experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications:

· Grade 12/ equivalent
· A qualified and trade tested as a Red Seal Boilermaker

Experience and Requirements:

Minimum of 15 years’ post trade experience in PLATE steel fabrication as a Workshop Manager
5 years’ experience managing a fabrication workshop with a minimum of 50 staff members
A proven track record of producing high quality stainless steel and carbon steel light to heavy fabricated components and equipment

Of sober habits
Own vehicle
Reside in or around Roodepoort
A stable work record and contactable references
Bilingual in English and Afrikaans

Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Must be able to pay attention to detail
Able to run the fabrication site effectively
Able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment
Demonstrate ability to effectively identify, communicate and solve problems
Have strong leadership and management skills
Sound knowledge of ASME, EN and AWS manufacturing codes
Able read and interpret technical drawings
Understand ISO quality systems
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook
Strong organizational skills with ability to plan and execute daily activities

Duties and responsibilities:

Planning
Assigning, and directing work
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and quality standards
Co-ordinate sub-contractors involved in the assembly stages
Searches for the most efficient technical solutions
Provides quantitative data for producing the progress reports
