FINANCIAL ANALYST PARASTATAL 6-MONTHS CONTRACT

SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Financial Analyst for a client based in Pretoria. You'd be responsible for financial planning, analysis, and financial projections. The forecast future revenues and expenditures to establish cost structures and determine capital budgeting for projects

POSITION INFO:

Financial Appraisals and Portfolio Reports

• Analysis of Corporate Financial Statements and other financial reports
• Appraising new investment proposals (due diligence) and opportunities
• Commercial analysis, financial model analysis, risk and institutional analysis
• Preparing appraisal/credit reports for submission
• Preparing disbursement request reports for submission
• Oversee disbursements to approved projects as well as monitor project progress post investment
• Reviews and verifies statistical and financial information..
• Cost Analysis
• Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
• Reviews budget forecasts and provide sufficient inputs.
• Reviews internal control environment and provide feedback to projects on weaknesses identified
• Improves financial status by analyzing results and monitoring variances.
• Reviews project expenditure including bulk payroll data and supporting evidence reported by projects and recommend actions to Jobs Fund management.
• Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses.
• Review junior people’s submissions and provide feedback and mentorship
• Accounting
• Analyzing current and past financial data and performance
• Identifying trends in financial performance and providing recommendations for improvement.
• Evaluate projects capital expenditures against JF value for money frameworks
• Review junior people’s submissions and provide feedback and mentorship
• Auditing & Compliance
• Examines accounting data for accuracy, appropriateness and documentation
• Audits document submitted for payment for compliance with Jobs Fund guidelines
• Prepares and maintains mandated documents as required.
• Review junior people’s submissions and provide feedback and mentorship
• Evaluation & Learning
• Contribution to the Jobs Fund’s knowledge Agenda through participation in workshops, webinars, learning forums, brownbag.
• Conducting portfolio research to assist the collection and collation of lessons learned.
• Communications and Technical Support
• Maintains communication with staff regarding financial matters
• Provides information and technical support in the development and revision of policies and regulations
• Assists in the development of office systems and procedures
• Promote knowledge management by sharing of technical financial information
• Reviews proposed contracts for adherence to Jobs Fund policy, existing laws, and Regulations
• Provides support to Jobs Fund staff or programs as a fiscal advisor when necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Accounting or Finance or Auditing.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in financial reporting, auditing, and financial analysis.
• Public sector and or grant/ development management experience
