SUMMARY:
A wellâestablished organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Controller to join their finance team on a fixedâterm contract. This role will play a critical part in managing financial transactions, reporting, and business processes aligned to agency and transitional services arrangements following a major business transaction.

POSITION INFO:

This position requires a technically strong finance professional with excellent stakeholder engagement skills, strong IFRS knowledge, and the ability to operate confidently in a complex, fastâpaced environment.

ð¯ Purpose of the Role:
The Finance Controller will take full ownership of finance deliverables related to agency and transitional services agreements, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and timely submissions. The role requires close collaboration with crossâfunctional stakeholders and senior leadership, supported by strong data analysis and clear financial communication.

ð Key Responsibilities:

Agency & Transitional Services Accounting:
- Lead the execution of finance deliverables relating to agency and TSA agreements
- Manage income, expenses, receipts, and payments in line with contractual requirements
- Oversee invoicing and fee recoveries related to services rendered
- Ensure correct VAT treatment across sales, trade spend, claims, and expenses
- Manage postâclosing collections, payments, and the reconciliation of “wrong pockets”
Reporting & Analytics:
- Prepare weekly and monthly management reports
- Produce consolidated reports with clear financial commentary
- Ensure accurate reporting of:
  - Accounts receivable (trade, producers, and other)
  - Accounts payable (trade, suppliers, and other)
  - Inventory and treasuryârelated transactions
Financial Control & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, the Companies Act, and Income Tax Act
- Maintain strong internal controls and governance
- Support treasury activities and cash flow oversight
- Collaborate with auditors and internal stakeholders as required
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with:
  - Commercial and finance teams
  - Supply chain, logistics, and operations
  - Sales and operations planning (S&OP) and integrated business planning (IBP)
  - Senior leadership acting as costâcentre owners

ð Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications:
- BCom Accounting
- Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting / BCom Honours
- Professional designation advantageous:
  - CA(SA), AGA(SA), CIMA, or ACCA
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar finance or controlling role
- Strong background in:
  - Standard costing systems
  - IFRS financial reporting
  - South African tax and VAT
  - Treasury and internal controls
- Experience within multinational or complex corporate structures
- Exposure to agency agreements, carveâouts, or TSA environments highly advantageous
- Solid working knowledge of SAP
- Advanced Excel skills essential
