JOB SUMMARY:
Finance Manager with a relevant Finance/Accounting Degree and at least 5-10 years’ experience on a senior accounting level, preferably in an import and distribution environment, required to join this leading importer of promotional apparel, based in Maitland, Cape Town.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Finance Manager with a relevant Finance/Accounting Degree and at least 5-10 years’ experience on a senior accounting level, preferably in an import and distribution environment, required to join this leading importer of promotional apparel, based in Maitland, Cape Town.

Minimum requirements:

B.Comm Degree in Accounting or Finance essential
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior accounting role required.
Knowledge and understanding of import/export industry preferred, but not essential

Responsibilities:

Drive finance and administration operations
Report directly to Managing Director
Establish and maintain string financial and operational controls
Maintain GL to Trial Balance using Sage Evolution
Month-end Journals
Bank and key account reconciliations
Managing cash and optimize cash flows
Weekly cash flow forecast and monitor bank accounts
Report on overheads monthly and ensure cost control
Stock controls
Assist MD with procurement of stock from foreign suppliers, including taking ou and managing forward cover and CFC accounts
Process payroll and salaries and maintain all staff contracts
Oversee creditors control, including reviewing of reconciliations and weekly release of payments
Oversee debtors control – reconciliation and age analysis
Fixed asset register and controls
Relationship management with various departments and stakeholders
Prepare and submit statutory returns – VAT, PAYE, UIF
Collate all information and documents for preparation of Income Tax returns
Prepare annual plans and budgets
