POSITION INFO:
An established international organisation is looking for a Finance Supervisor to join its finance team in Johannesburg East. This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong accountant who is ready to move beyond a traditional Senior Accountant role and take on greater leadership responsibility within a dynamic business. Working closely with senior finance leadership, you will oversee the day-to-day finance function while supporting group reporting, compliance, and operational finance activities. The role offers exposure to international finance, foreign exchange transactions, and cross-border operations, making it an excellent platform for long-term career growth. This position is suited to an ambitious finance professional who enjoys combining hands-on technical accounting with team leadership. In addition to strong financial expertise, the successful candidate must be able to speak and write Mandarin to effectively support the requirements of the role. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Accounting Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports. Oversee month-end and year-end financial processes. Review journals, reconciliations, and balance sheet accounts. Assist with the preparation of Annual Financial Statements. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information. Tax & Compliance Manage SARS submissions, including VAT and statutory returns. Ensure compliance with tax legislation and company policies. Support external audits and year-end reporting requirements. Maintain strong financial controls and governance standards. Group Finance & Operations Support group reporting and financial analysis. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting. Work with SADC foreign exchange transactions and cross-border finance activities. Partner with operational teams to improve financial performance. Leadership & Team Support Supervise and mentor junior finance staff. Review work for accuracy and compliance. Drive continuous improvement across finance processes. Foster a culture of accountability and high performance. Job Experience and Skills Required BCom in Accounting or Finance. Completed SAICA articles preferred. Approximately 2 years' post-articles experience. Experience within a manufacturing or retail environment is highly advantageous. Proven experience with SARS submissions, including VAT. Exposure to SADC foreign exchange transactions is beneficial. Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP system experience. Ability to speak and write Mandarin is essential. Willingness to work Saturdays from 09:00 to 12:00 as part of the role requirements.
