POSITION INFO:
Our client is a well-established international sea freight operator, with a strong presence in Johannesburg’s logistics hub. Known for connecting businesses to markets worldwide, they pride themselves on reliability, compliance, and client service excellence. The Financial Accountant will oversee end-to-end financial accounting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity in all reporting, a critical function in a sector where precision is everything.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review financial statements in line with IFRS.
Manage month-end close, reconciliations, and journals.
Oversee debtors, creditors, and fixed asset registers.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
Support internal and external audit processes.
Provide insights into cost drivers and assist in controlling maritime-related expenses.
Collaborate with regional/global teams on reporting requirements.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

BCom Accounting degree (completed articles preferred).
3-4 years’ accounting experience, ideally in logistics or freight forwarding.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and tax regulations.
Hands-on experience with financial systems and ERP platforms.
Sharp attention to detail and accuracy under pressure.
Team player with the ability to manage deadlines in a dynamic environment.
