SUMMARY:
A prestigious luxury group with multiple companies in the luxury goods sector is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their dynamic finance team based in Johannesburg North

POSITION INFO:
This role offers the opportunity to work within a high-end, fast-paced environment that values excellence, precision, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities

General Ledger

Full responsibility for the general ledger across multiple entities
Preparation and posting of journals, accruals, and provisions
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolution of variances
Ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial records

Lease Accounting

Managing lease accounting in line with applicable accounting standards
Maintaining lease registers and calculating lease liabilities and right-of-use assets
Monthly lease journal entries, reconciliations, and disclosures
Liaising with property managers and internal stakeholders regarding lease agreements

Financial Reporting

Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts
Assisting with consolidated reporting across the group
Supporting year-end financial statements and audit processes
Providing meaningful financial analysis and commentary to management

Internal Controls

Maintaining and monitoring strong internal control environments
Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards
Identifying control gaps and recommending process improvements
Supporting audit requirements and implementing audit recommendations

Minimum Requirements

BCom Degree in Accounting / Finance
Proven experience as a Financial Accountant, preferably within a group structure
Strong technical accounting knowledge
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
