This organisation operates in a demanding, operationally intensive environment. The finance function sits at the heart of performance delivery, and this role will take ownership of the full financial accounting mandate while partnering closely with operations.
You will oversee statutory reporting, contract accounting, working capital management, and capital expenditure control all while leading key finance teams and strengthening internal governance.
This is a structured, office-based role suited to a professional who is articulate, resilient, and confident in engaging senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Compliance
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
Prepare and review statutory financial statements in line with IFRS
Ensure full compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors
Operational and Contract Accounting
Manage WIP, billing variations, and revenue recognition
Oversee long-term contract accounting, including forecasting and margin analysis
Monitor project financial performance and provide commercial insight
Working Capital and Team Leadership
Lead and develop Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams
Ensure accurate billing, effective collections, and sound cash flow management
Strengthen processes and implement controls across transactional functions
Capex and Cost Management
Oversee capital expenditure, asset registers, and depreciation schedules
Drive cost control initiatives and detailed variance analysis
Partner with operational teams to enhance profitability

Job Experience and Skills Required

CA(SA) – essential
Proven experience within FMCG, construction, engineering, or similarly complex industries
Strong exposure to contract accounting and project environments
Demonstrated people management experience, particularly overseeing AP and AR functions
Excellent communication skills and professional presence
Ability to operate effectively in a structured, performance-driven environment
